Industry Experience
Paul began practice as a solicitor in 1976 and has been a partner or sole practitioner in private legal firms since 1978, most recently with his brother Phillip at Markham Geikie Farrugia.
As well as being a solicitor, Paul has been a registered tax agent throughout his legal career, providing tax advice and preparing income tax returns. This dual legal and tax expertise has been particularly valuable to his business clients, who are frequently faced with overlapping legal and tax issues.
Professional Background
Paul holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Sydney.
He is a director of Redfern Legal Centre and of Aftercare, two not for profit organisations, and is the Honorary Treasurer of Aftercare.
In 1993, the Law Society of NSW gave him its pro bono solicitor of the year award in recognition of his years of voluntary service with Redfern Legal Centre.
From 1978 to 1990, Paul lectured in contract and real estate law.
